I come from a long line of hunters. I even had my own rifle. Wow that was a very long time ago! We only shot what we could eat. Sometimes we used bow and arrows.Kathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16100361828547028657noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5230716652816894128.post-23793857675850765452008-05-09T10:53:00.001-06:002008-05-09T10:53:00.001-06:00I did read TOD, but it was about 1.5 years ago. It's definitely more about pollution and less about how the animals are treated-- which isn't to say I don't care about that, but rather, that I think poultry (at least) are rather idioticAdinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08099591841328655836noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5230716652816894128.post-91448259579761560212008-05-09T10:53:00.000-06:002008-05-09T10:53:00.000-06:00I did read TOD, but it was about 1.5 years ago. It is...You must have read 'The Omnivore's Dilemma." It is really a compelling read. To be honest, after reading it, I've cut back on my beef intake. I'll eat turkey more often (I have no pity for those damn birds [the same goes for chicken]).
For me it is not so much my own caloric intake and health as it is more about how the corporate cows have caused so much pollution and damage.
I've also backed down on anything with high-fructose syrup. I guess I'm just an enlightened health nut fag now?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
