H-Mart in Baltimore!

I was floored to find out that H-Mart had opened a store in Baltimore. S & I went on Monday evening to check it out. The produce was unbelievable and so cheap! They also had all sorts of bizarre stuff, like a whole wall of tofu products. We had dinner there, which was yummy. The menu seemed more varied than the one in Philly. This location also has a bakery, which is awesome. I bought a delicious red bean bun from there. I will say though that I was disappointed with the cookie and candy section. The Philly location put this one to shame in that respect. I forgot to bring my camera (again!), but I took some pictures of some of the loot I bought after I got home. I LOVE these custard buns-- they are the kind you get when you go out for Dim Sum...so delicious.

Fruit Picking

Over the weekend I drove to Philadelphia to stay with Andrew and Chad. I always have such a fun, relaxed time with them. On Friday we had dinner at H-Mart (huge Asian grocery store) with Erin and Matt. I forgot to bring my camera, but Andrew and Erin both chronicled our meal on their blogs. On Saturday morning, we woke up bright and early to go pick fruit. We picked blackberries and peaches. It was so much fun! After that, we came back to the house and Andrew taught me how to make jam. We made tasty blackberry jam. This week I am hoping to get some jars (the Giant by my house is stupid and didn't have any) so I can make more jam out of the peaches we picked.

Apartment photos

Here are some pictures from my apartment in Baltimore. It's cute and vintage-y. I didn't want something super updated and modern, so it works out. I'm a sucker for old houses. I've also managed to snag a lot of nifty old furniture from various antique shops. I find that the mid-century modern stuff suits my taste and the proportions fit nicely in my space.

We now return to our regularly scheduled program...

As requested, I am updating my blog. Yay! You're shocked, I know. Tee hee.

So yeah, I live in Baltimore now, at least for the time being. It's a mixed bag of nuts. It's nice to be close to everything, but being a renter (we're renting out our house in Nashville so we don't lose money selling it) sucks and I hate all the crime and urban blight. I think I'm more of a country livin' kind of girl. I hope to return to Nashville again, but we'll see. I'm open to other places as well, just not Baltimore forever.

Anyhoo, here is a picture of some of the mad money I made selling my belongings on Craigslist. Keep in mind, I went from a 3,800 sq. ft. house to a one bedroom apartment, so there was a lot to sell. Those Craigslist people are insane-- they all want to give you $1 for something that is worth $500. I sold most of the stuff I had to sell though, which was good.

I am SOOOO overwhelmed and busy right now and trying to get everything together, but I couldn't resist posting these adorable pictures of Winston.
